Bronchogen dosage and protocol
Bronchogen is a peptide bioregulator that has been studied for bronchial and respiratory system support. It is part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator series.
- Vial size: 20 mg
- Reconstitution: 2 mL bacteriostatic water
- Concentration: 10 mg/mL
- Administration: subcutaneous
Research areas
- Respiratory Health
- Bronchial Research
- Lung Function
Quick start
- Reconstitute: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water to the 20 mg vial → 10 mg/mL
- Typical dose: 10 mg every other day for a 10-day course
- Easy measuring: At 10 mg/mL, 1 unit = 0.01 mL = 100 mcg; a 10 mg dose = 100 units (1.0 mL) on a U-100 syringe
- Storage: Keep frozen before mixing; refrigerate after reconstitution and use within 30 days
Dosing protocol
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 10000 mcg | Every other day (10 days) | 1.00 mL |
How it works
Bronchogen is a short synthetic peptide (the tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu) from the bioregulator series developed by Vladimir Khavinson and colleagues in Russia. The bioregulator concept proposes that very short peptides can enter cells and nuclei, interact with specific DNA regions or histone proteins, and influence the expression of genes involved in tissue-specific function and repair. Bronchogen was designed to act on bronchial and lung epithelium. In cell culture and animal work published mainly by the originating group, Bronchogen was reported to influence the differentiation of bronchial epithelial cells, modulate expression of proteins involved in mucus production and surfactant function, and reduce inflammatory changes in rodent models of chronic obstructive lung disease. Proposed downstream effects include normalized mucociliary function and reduced airway inflammation. The evidence base is thin: studies are small, largely from a single research network and published mostly in Russian-language journals, with no large, independent, randomized human trials. The mechanism of direct gene regulation by short peptides remains debated. Bronchogen is sold as a dietary supplement in some countries but is not an approved medicine for respiratory disease.
