Ovagen dosage and protocol
Ovagen is a peptide bioregulator that has been studied for liver and gastrointestinal health support. It is part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator family.
- Vial size: 20 mg
- Reconstitution: 2 mL bacteriostatic water
- Concentration: 10 mg/mL
- Administration: subcutaneous
Research areas
- Liver Health
- Gastrointestinal Research
- Organ Protection
Quick start
- Reconstitute: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water to the 20 mg vial for 10 mg/mL
- Typical dose: 10 mg every other day over a short course of about 10 days
- Easy measuring: At 10 mg/mL, 1 unit = 0.01 mL = 100 mcg on a U-100 syringe; 10 mg is 100 units (a full 1 mL syringe)
- Storage: Frozen before mixing; refrigerate after reconstitution and use within 30 days
Dosing protocol
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 10000 mcg | Every other day (10 days) | 1.00 mL |
How it works
Ovagen is one of the short peptide bioregulators developed by Vladimir Khavinson's group in Russia, generally reported as the tripeptide Glu-Asp-Leu. The bioregulator concept proposes that very short peptides can enter cells, interact with DNA or histone regions and influence gene expression in a tissue-specific way, in this case targeting liver and gastrointestinal tissue. Most of the supporting work comes from the same research group and consists of cell culture studies, rodent experiments and small, largely Russian-language human observations, many using oral capsule formulations rather than injections. Reported findings include changes in expression of genes related to cell proliferation and differentiation and markers of improved liver function in aged or damaged tissue models. Independent replication outside this research network is limited, controlled clinical trials are lacking and the proposed gene-regulatory mechanism has not been firmly established. The evidence base should therefore be regarded as preliminary.
Reconstitution steps
- Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe
- Inject slowly down the vial wall; avoid foaming
- Gently swirl/roll until dissolved (do not shake)
- Label with reconstitution date and refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light; use within 30 days
Storage
Store frozen before reconstitution. Refrigerate after. Use within 30 days.
