Thymulin dosage and protocol
Thymic peptide involved in T-cell differentiation and immune homeostasis. Supports neuroendocrine effects and may have applications in age-related immune decline.
- Vial size: 2 mg
- Reconstitution: 2 mL bacteriostatic water
- Concentration: 1mg/mL
- Administration: subcutaneous
Research areas
- Immune System Regulation
- Inflammation Modulation
- T-Cell Support
Quick start
- Reconstitute: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water to the 2 mg vial for 1 mg/mL
- Typical dose: 1-5 mg 2-3 times weekly as listed (well above studied research doses)
- Easy measuring: At 1 mg/mL, 1 unit (0.01 mL) on a U-100 syringe is 10 mcg; 1 mg is a full 100-unit syringe
- Storage: Refrigerate the reconstituted peptide

How it works
Thymulin (formerly facteur thymique sérique) is a nine-amino-acid peptide secreted by thymic epithelial cells. It is biologically active only when bound to zinc, and its blood levels fall with age and zinc deficiency. Thymulin promotes differentiation of immature T cells and influences the balance of T-cell subsets, contributing to immune homeostasis. Thymulin also interacts with the neuroendocrine system: its secretion is influenced by hormones such as growth hormone, prolactin and thyroid hormone, and it has been shown to affect pituitary hormone release. In rodent studies it reduced inflammatory cytokines and pain behaviour in models of inflammation and neuropathic pain, and gene-therapy approaches delivering thymulin improved some markers of age-related decline in aged rodents. Most evidence is preclinical. There are no approved medical uses and no substantial human clinical trials of injectable thymulin. Reported research doses in animals are generally very small, so the milligram doses listed in this record go well beyond what the published literature describes.
Reconstitution steps
- Draw 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe
- Inject slowly down the vial wall; avoid foaming
- Gently swirl/roll until dissolved (do not shake)
- Label with reconstitution date and refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light; use within 30 days
Storage
Store reconstituted peptide refrigerated.
