Vesugen dosage and protocol
Vesugen is a peptide bioregulator that has been studied for vascular health and endothelial function. It is part of the Khavinson peptide bioregulator series.
- Vial size: 20 mg
- Reconstitution: 3 mL bacteriostatic water
- Concentration: 6.67 mg/mL
- Administration: subcutaneous
Research areas
- Vascular Health
- Cardiovascular Research
- Endothelial Function
Quick start
- Reconstitute: Add 3.0 mL bacteriostatic water to the 20 mg vial for about 6.67 mg/mL
- Typical dose: 10 mg every other day over a 10-day course
- Easy measuring: At 6.67 mg/mL, 1 unit (0.01 mL) on a U-100 syringe is about 67 mcg; 10 mg is about 150 units (1.5 mL), so two draws are needed
- Storage: Frozen before reconstitution; refrigerate after and use within 30 days
Dosing protocol
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Week 1 | 500 mcg | Once daily (SC) | 0.075 mL (7.5 units) |
| Week 2 | 1000 mcg | Once daily (SC) | 0.15 mL (15 units) |
| Week 3 | 1500 mcg | Once daily (SC) | 0.225 mL (22.5 units) |
| Weeks 4–8 | 1500–2000 mcg | Once daily (SC) | 0.225–0.30 mL (22.5–30 units) |
How it works
Vesugen is a synthetic tripeptide (Lys-Glu-Asp) developed by Vladimir Khavinson's group in Russia as one of a series of short peptide bioregulators. These peptides are proposed to enter cells and interact with DNA and chromatin to influence gene expression in specific tissues. Vesugen is described as targeting the vascular wall, particularly endothelial cells. In cell culture and aged-animal studies from the same research group, Vesugen was reported to influence expression of proteins related to cell proliferation and aging in vascular cells, and to support endothelial function. Proposed downstream benefits include improved microcirculation and vascular tone. The evidence base is narrow: most studies come from one research network, many are published in Russian-language journals, and independent replication is lacking. There are no rigorous controlled human trials. In Russia it is mostly sold as an oral supplement, so the subcutaneous use in this record has even less supporting data.
Reconstitution steps
- Draw 3.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe
- Inject slowly down the vial wall; avoid foaming
- Gently swirl/roll until dissolved (do not shake)
- Label with reconstitution date and refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light; use within 30 days
Storage
Store frozen before reconstitution. Refrigerate after. Use within 30 days.
