Pinealon dosage and protocol
Pinealon is a synthetic peptide bioregulator that has been studied for brain health and neuroprotection. It is part of the Khavinson peptide family researched for organ-specific effects.
- Vial size: 20 mg
- Reconstitution: 3 mL bacteriostatic water
- Concentration: 6.67 mg/mL
- Administration: subcutaneous
Research areas
- Brain Health
- Neuroprotection
- Cognitive Research
Quick start
- Reconstitute: Add 3.0 mL bacteriostatic water to the 20 mg vial for about 6.67 mg/mL
- Typical dose: 1 mg daily rising to 2 mg daily over a 20-day course
- Easy measuring: At 6.67 mg/mL, 1 unit = 0.01 mL = 66.7 mcg on a U-100 syringe; 1 mg is 15 units and 2 mg is 30 units
- Storage: Frozen before mixing; refrigerate after reconstitution and use within 30 days
Dosing protocol
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Days 1–5 | 1000 mcg (1.0 mg) | Once daily (SC) | 0.15 mL (15 units) |
| Days 6–14 | 1500 mcg (1.5 mg) | Once daily (SC) | 0.225 mL (22.5 units) |
| Days 15–20 | 2000 mcg (2.0 mg) | Once daily (SC) | 0.30 mL (30 units) |
How it works
Pinealon is a synthetic tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) from the Khavinson family of short peptide bioregulators, studied for effects on the brain. Its proposed mechanism is that, because of its very small size, it can enter cells and the nucleus and influence gene expression, along with reported antioxidant effects that reduce reactive oxygen species and limit cell death under stress. In cell culture and rodent studies from this research group, Pinealon reduced oxidative damage and neuronal death after hypoxia or toxic exposure, and in offspring of rats exposed to prenatal stress or hyperhomocysteinaemia it improved some measures of cognitive function. Small human studies, mostly published in Russian and often using oral forms, have reported improvements in memory or recovery after brain injury, but these lacked rigorous controls. Independent replication is limited and no large randomised human trials have been published. The evidence for Pinealon should be regarded as preliminary and largely confined to one research network.
Reconstitution steps
- Draw 3.0 mL bacteriostatic water with a sterile syringe
- Inject slowly down the vial wall; avoid foaming
- Gently swirl/roll until dissolved (do not shake)
- Label and refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light
Storage
Store frozen before reconstitution. Refrigerate after. Use within 30 days.
