Quick start
- Reconstitute: Add 2.0 mL bacteriostatic water to the 10 mg vial for 5 mg/mL
- Typical dose: 5 mg twice weekly when loading, then 2.5 mg twice weekly, then 2.5 mg weekly
- Easy measuring: At 5 mg/mL, 1 unit (0.01 mL) on a U-100 syringe is 50 mcg; 2.5 mg is 50 units and 5 mg is 100 units
- Storage: Refrigerate after reconstitution, protect from light, typically stable for 4-6 weeks
Dosing protocol
| Phase | Dose | Frequency | Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 2.5mg | 2x weekly | 0.5 |
| Loading | 5mg | 2x weekly | 1.0 |
| Maintenance | 2.5mg | weekly | 0.5 |
How it works
Thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4) is a 43-amino-acid peptide found in most cells, especially platelets and white blood cells. Its best-characterised role is binding monomeric G-actin, which regulates the pool of actin available for building the cytoskeleton. Through this and other signalling effects, Tβ4 promotes cell migration, the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and differentiation of progenitor cells, while dampening inflammatory signalling such as NF-κB activation. In animal models, Tβ4 has accelerated healing of skin wounds, corneal injuries and heart muscle after experimental infarction, and reduced inflammation and scarring. It has also shown protective effects in models of brain injury and hair growth. Many of these effects are linked to recruitment and activation of stem and progenitor cells. Human trials have focused on topical and ophthalmic forms, such as eye drops for dry eye and neurotrophic keratitis and gels for chronic skin wounds, with some encouraging but not definitive results. Systemic injection in humans has been tested only in early safety studies, so benefits of injectable Tβ4 for injury recovery or immune balance are not established in people.
Reconstitution steps
- Add 2mL bacteriostatic water slowly down the vial wall
- Gently swirl to mix - do not shake
- Allow to dissolve completely
- Label with date and concentration
- Store in refrigerator
Storage
Store reconstituted peptide refrigerated. Protect from light. Typical stability: 4-6 weeks when refrigerated.
Important notes
- Same as TB-500 - natural form vs synthetic
- Excellent for healing injuries and tissue repair
- Modulates immune function and reduces inflammation
- Avoid with active cancer or uncontrolled autoimmune conditions
- Some practitioners recommend administering before sleep
- May be used systemically or locally near injury site
Supplies
- Bacteriostatic water
- Insulin syringes
- Alcohol swabs
